Campus Construction Update: March 5–11

Saturday work at HSSC will continue for steel erection/detail and wall framing/sheathing. All major work activity at the Humanities and Social Studies Complex (HSSC) and the Admission and Financial Aid (AFA) building is included below. Abbreviation key: SOG — slab on grade; SOD — slab on deck; MEP — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; FF — finished floor; HM — hollow metal; OH — overhead; AHU — air handling unit; any reference to “pour” refers to pouring concrete; CMU — concrete masonry unit.

HSSC: Major activity week of March 5

  • Exterior curtainwall, brick/stone veneer
  • Steel detailing
  • Architectural atrium stairs install
  • Drywall, 1st floor south pavilion
  • Low roof work, south pavilion
  • Overhead work, 3rd floor south, 1st and 2nd north
  • Interior wall framing/rough-in
  • Staging pre-fabricated racks for plumbing
  • Freight elevator install
  • Fireproofing, south low roof
  • Overhead rough-in

AFA: Major activity week of March 5

  • Start the setting of HM frames 1st floor grids
  • Start sprinkler rough-ins 1st floor
  • Roof insulation and plywood grids 3-9
  • Start the setting of wood beams
  • 1st floor framing northwest wing complete
  • Start setting windows 2nd floor
  • Air barrier continues
  • Plumbing rack rough-ins
  • Electrical wall rough-ins
  • Roof decking edge angle north wing grid A-K
