Campus Construction Update: March 19–25

All major work activity at the Humanities and Social Studies Complex (HSSC) and the Admission and Financial Aid (AFA) building is included below. Abbreviation key: SOG — slab on grade; SOD — slab on deck; MEP — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; FF — finished floor; HM — hollow metal; OH — overhead; AHU — air handling unit; any reference to “pour” refers to pouring concrete; CMU — concrete masonry unit.

HSSC: Major activity week of March 19

  • Basement MEP insulation / steam
  • Hang drywall – 2nd floor south pavilion
  • Drywall finish – 1st floor south pavilion
  • Wall rough-in/backing/framing -3rd floor south pavilion
  • Overhead MEP – 2nd & 3rd floor south pavilion
  • Interior wall framing –3rd floor south pavilion / north pavilion
  • Roofing – north pavilion completed
  • Roofing detail- All areas
  • Overhead MEP – 1st/2nd/3rd north pavilion
  • Curtainwall – south pavilion segmented & south
  • Curtainwall- atrium clerestory
  • Brick veneer – north pavilion, north elevation
  • Steel detailing – 99.9% completed all areas
  • Scaffold erection – atrium
  • Halo skylights – Atrium
  • Halo framing – Atrium
  • Fireproofing- north pavilion 3rd floor
  • Carnegie / ARH existing exploratory

AFA: Major activity week of March 19

  • Setting of Monumental Stairs continues
  • Wood ceiling decking in Waiting Room 104
  • HM frames 1st floor continue
  • 1st floor wall framing complete
  • Rough-in for 1st floor restrooms
  • Receive 2nd floor ductwork
  • Receive sprinkler 2nd floor
  • Sprinkler & ductwork overhead 2nd floor set
  • Roof insulation and plywood grid 3-9 east side
  • Start setting 2nd floor windows
  • ARH to AFA utility crossing starts
