Campus Construction Update: April 9–15

All major work activity at the Humanities and Social Studies Complex (HSSC) and the Admission and Financial Aid (AFA) building is included below. Abbreviation key: SOG — slab on grade; SOD — slab on deck; MEP — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; FF — finished floor; HM — hollow metal; OH — overhead; AHU — air handling unit; any reference to “pour” refers to pouring concrete; CMU — concrete masonry unit.

HSSC: Major activity week of April 9

  • Basement MEP insulation/steam
  • Hang drywall – 2nd floor, south pavilion
  • Drywall finish – 1st & 2nd floors, south pavilion
  • Paint mobilize/begin – south pavilion
  • Wall rough-in/backing/framing – 3rd floor, south pavilion, 1st floor A
  • Overhead MEP – 2nd & 3rd floors, south & north pavilions
  • Door frames – north pavilion
  • Atrium ceiling/MEP mock-up
  • Interior wall framing – 3rd floor, south & north pavilions
  • Roofing – detail work all areas/canopies
  • Curtainwall – atrium, east elevation
  • Brick veneer – south pavilion, north/east elevation
  • Steel detailing – misc. steel
  • Halo skylights – atrium, completed minus detail
  • Freight elevator 99% – south pavilion
  • Interior masonry – south pavilion
  • Tower crane demobilize (Friday-Sunday)
  • Metal panel field verify – north & south pavilions

AFA: Major activity week of April 9

  • Exterior window installs
  • Roof insulation continues north area
  • Finish wood deck ceiling at waiting room
  • Exterior stoops west (from landscape project)
  • Complete overhead rough-ins, 2nd floor
  • Start wall rough in’s, 2nd floor
  • Site HVAC utility lines near completion
  • Window install continues
  • Spray foam and air vapor barrier continued
  • Complete exterior framing and sheathing
