Campus Construction Update: April 2–8

All major work activity at the Humanities and Social Studies Complex (HSSC) and the Admission and Financial Aid (AFA) building is includedbelow. Abbreviation key: SOG — slab on grade; SOD — slab on deck; MEP — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; FF — finished floor; HM — hollow metal; OH — overhead; AHU — air handling unit; any reference to “pour” refers to pouring concrete; CMU — concrete masonry unit.

HSSC: Major activity week of April 2           

  • Basement MEP insulation/steam
  • Hang drywall – 2nd floor south pavilion
  • Drywall finish – 1st Floor south pavilion
  • Wall rough-in/backing/framing -3rd floor south pavilion, 1st floor A
  • Overhead MEP – 2nd & 3rd floor south pavilion
  • Interior wall framing –3rd floor south pavilion/north pavilion
  • Roofing – detail work all areas/canopies
  • Overhead MEP – 1st/2nd/3rd north pavilion
  • Curtainwall – atrium east elevation
  • Curtainwall – leave out bay south pavilion completed
  • Brick veneer – north pavilion, north elevation phase completion
  • Steel detailing – misc. steel
  • Scaffold erection – atrium complete
  • Halo skylights – atrium
  • Halo framing – atrium
  • Freight elevator 80% – south pavilion
  • Interior masonry – south pavilion
  • North pavilion – cooling towers roof

AFA: Major activity week of April 2

  • Exterior window installs
  • Roof insulation continues north area
  • Complete soffits at waiting room area
  • Interior framing 2nd floor starts
  • Set HM frames 2nd floor
  • Receive stone for fireplace
  • Complete air barrier
  • Finish wood deck ceiling at waiting room
  • Finish detailing welds on monumental stair
